Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Legendary Australian singer and songwriter Paul Kelly and Midnight Oils front man Peter Garret have all signed on for November’s milestone event.
“It’s really exciting to be able to present such a quality bunch of acts for our 20th festival. I can really tell that artists are becoming more and more aware of just how good QMF is, how fantastic our crowds are, and how beautiful our town is,” said Festival director Andrew Orvis.
“Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals is a massive coup. Arguably they’re the biggest act the festival has presented in our 20-year history but to also land Paul Kelly & Peter Garrett is fantastic as well.
“I’ve been trying to get Paul back for several years now, and finally the planets aligned this year,” said Orvis.
Kelly is returning to the Festival for the first time since 2007, while Garrett, supported by an all star band, perform songs from his soon to be released solo album A version of Now.
The event will feature over 80 local and international acts performing over three days from November 25-27. Sales of Early Bird Tickets have “smashed all records,” indicating the event could be the biggest ever staged.
“We are every chance to sell out this year. If tickets keep selling the way they are we will be putting the Sold Out sign up before the festival kicks off for the first time in our 20 year history so we would encourage all those people who traditionally have waited until the week before the festival to buy their tickets to get them now and avoid missing out,” said Mr Orvis.
The next of four more line-up announcements will be made mid this month and will feature yet another big name coup, he said.
“We’ve also got a great bunch of internationals to announce in August as well. It will be our strongest group of internationals we’ve ever had.”
