A fundraising campaign has been launched to upgrade Queenscliffe’s only basketball courts.
The Point Lonsdale Basketball Association (PLBA) is hoping to raise $120,000 to resurface the courts, at the Point Lonsdale Primary School courts, and add four new adjustable rings.
“This upgrade will provide a safe training ground for all our teams and mark the beginning of our journey to establish a true home for basketball," it said.
The association was formed two years ago to bring together local teams that compete in the Bellarine competition. In that time, the number of PLBA-affiliated teams has grown from just two to 23.
It launched the appeal at an inaugural Basketball Fair, held at the school on July 14.
